The Joseph Curtin modern viola stolen in Miami, United States, on Friday evening has been found undamaged and returned to its owner.

The instrument, case and Ole Kanestrom bow were brought into Duffy Rare Violins in Miami, this morning by two unidentified men – who made claim they purchased the instrument at a garage sale for $300.

A store salesperson, who had previously seen the stolen alert on The Violin Channel, immediately contacted the instrument’s maker and City of Miami Police Department.

“While I am very angry at these men and want justice … all I really care about right now is that I have my life back … and love wins, every-time!’ an emotional owner, Greg Falkenstein of the Miami City Ballet Orchestra has told The Violin Channel.

“Thank you Violin Channel for everything you do … really!” Greg has added.

No arrests have been made at this stage.

Thanks to a generous gift from Richard D. Colburn, the Conservatory is able to provide extraordinary financial support to its students. With the factor of ability to pay removed from the equation, the School is able to assemble a gifted population in which student interaction is a medium for growth. Peer support, collective inspiration and shared achievement create an atmosphere of artistic exhilaration and motivation for Conservatory students that they will carry throughout their lives. It is the cultivation of like-talents – of virtuosity, of mastery and of heart – that is one of the main reasons for the success of Colburn students.
